Kathleen O'Brien Horne (KOBH)
Kathy is most inspired by the beauty of Cape Cod Bay - when the tide is at its very lowest and the darkness is creeping in. Always experimenting with new mediums, Kathy's paintings are defined by the texture as well as the unique Cape Cod coastal imagery.
An experienced graphic designer and visual
merchandiser, Kathy likes to create images that explore the relationship between land and water through a balance of color, hue, value, texture, and composition. In her process, she adds and subtracts design elements to reach a final statement, striving to keep it simple and uncomplicated as to discover results that are unplanned.
A Western Mass based artist with a bachelor’s degree in Printmaking. Lee's most recent work reflects her interest in fiber and the gendered, political connotations that this medium often faces.
She focuses on the experiences of women in the art realm, both as maker and subject. Using materials that are historically linked to the cliched feminine tasks within the home, Lee removes the objectifying male gaze and reclaims the worth of handicrafts as a fine art.
